I’ve always been more of a Kölsch fan (although purists claim it is not beer at all). Kölsch comes in 0.2 glasses. When you are in a pub in Cologne, you get a new glass of cold beer as soon as your old one is empty. When you’ve had enough you put the coaster on top. Easy communication and always fresh beer!
It’s Christmas markets / beerfest prices. A good beer in a good restaurant will cost you 6 Euros a litre (but it comes in smaller glasses) at most in Germany, In a not so fancy places, it’ll cost you 4. And a bottle of 1/2 litre at the supermarket is anywhere between 80 cents an 1.30 Euros, depending on their advertising budget.
Finding a spot in a tent at the Oktoberfest – up to 180 Euro per person. Paying for a litre of beer – 15 Euros. Drinking stale beer after the first 20 minutes – priceless.

I couldn’t afford that plus I couldn’t drink a litre of beer unless it is warm and flat to start with and then I wouldn’t drink it at all
