Some photos I took over the past year which I like.

A wonderfully coloured rhododedron bloom.
Different plant (a maple tree), different time of year (autumn), same hue.
Looks like a snake but is a legless lizard, a slow worm. Normally too fast for me.
This one cooperated and even helped with the depth of field.
Another animal shot – this one of a very sceptical Chinese goose.
A photo epitomising sun, sea and summer holidays.
Still in holiday mood, a bit later in the year.

    1. Glad you like them. Now can you tell me why that little bugger is called slow worm? That’s the first one that was ever slow enough for me to take photos!

      1. The name comes from the old English “slāwyrm” (earthworm or slowworm) with the “slā” bit referring not to speed, exactly, but to the fact they have to burrow underground to get away and are therefore easier to catch.
