It’s not just checkered

The Hash House Harriers have two tartans (both listed in the Scottish Register of Tartans). Here I’m sporting my hunting kilt – in the colours of green (for the nature we run in), amber (for our favourite drink), with a thread of white (for the chalk markings we follow), a thread of blue (for the water we cross), and a thread of red (for the blood that occasionally flows on trail).

When I was hashing in Saudi plaid material was hard to come by which posed a problem on our yearly Burns run. But it brought out the creative streak in me. I found checkered shirts (lumberjack style) and made lovely sashes and tammies out of them for our boys, and a niqab for me.
