The promise of spring

It’s a free week, i.e. a week without a set theme. If you have some monochrome photos you’d like to share link to Leanne’s blog here: Monochrome Madness

    1. Oh, that is really a shame. They are lovely. But my post was almost too late. I took the pics last week. And now we had 3,4 warmish days and the croci are out, the daffodils have literally exploded, little blue scilla are out, primulas and I even saw not quite fully open grape hyacinths. The almonds have started to blossom. All within less than a week!

      1. You have way more bloom than I have. My camellias and azaleas are about bloomed out now and dropping their flowers. My spirea is blooming, as is the redbud tree. I have more leaf texture than flowers in my yard, but the various greens are still pretty.

      2. Thanks, Elke. I like it. Not much upkeep on my part, or watering, involved. So that’s good. Officially, spring arrives here March 20, but spring has somewhat arrived here in Florida, though. Warm enough during the day for long pants but short sleeves. Spring is a short season for us though–it will get warm here pretty quickly. Beaches are already packed.

    1. Yes, here too. It’s amazing what has happened within less than a week. The snowdrops are mostly wilted, as have the leucojum vernum which we called March cups (and it’s only the 3rd!). I went past the local botanical garden and was greeted by so many flowering species!
