The first photo is from this year, the other two from two years ago, apparently a week or so later in the flowering season.
The windows of the house built around 1900 behind are also well worth seeing.

I was there when the magnolia was just opening its buds, Yes, it is huge.

It’s the reason I’ve got a magnolia tree in our garden. Unfortunately, I just said “magnolia” to the gardener. I had this tree in mind. I got a dark pink, almost red one which flowers a tad later than the white/pink ones and which hasn’t got that exuberant spring feeling.
