I do, too. The hotel was called the “The Golden Pike” but closed down and is now a branch of “Coffee Fellows”. Luckily, they recognised the tradition and left the pike where it was.
Now I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole, trying to find a synonym for pike (the fish: Northern pike, pickerel, jack , Esox lucius) and my! there are so many other pikes. And the ancient spear. It didn’t help that the online dictionary I normally use seems to be down. But I can understand the confusion now.
The fish!! All are interesting, but I love the fish door best.

Gosh, I am so slow! I didn’t make the connection about ‘pike’ until I read Margaret’s comment. 🙄🐟

Fabulous pike. I’m glad he’s still there even if the hotel isn’t.

I thought you were referring to lois’ and my conversation. About pikes, spears, fish and rabbitholes. 😀

I was trying to make a pikey joke, but I am very bad at jokes.
