As a kid I used to live next to a park where peacock lived. Overnight guests of my parents had sleepless nights because of the cries (which at first they couldn’t identify) but to me it always feels like home. And they were never grumpy with me. 😊
I never experienced them as grumpy. Protective of their chicks, yes, to kids trying to steal one of their gorgeous tail feathers, of course, but not if they’re left in peace.

II’ve never misbehaved round a peacock, but they regard me with disdain.
