I’ve been doing Dale’s bidding looking for shade for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge. I went looking in my archive – and aye, there’s the rub. The photos in my archive are tagged in German and German doesn’t make a diffference between “shade” and “shadow” (which, as far as I know, is also the case in French, Italian, and Spanish).
Last week it was freezing, it has slowly been getting warmer, reaching just above 20°C on Thursday and then – wham! – 30°C on Friday! Blue skies and blazing sun. And I went out looking for shade.
This guard rail produces a shadow but very little shade for somebody my size.

Most of the way was like the one on the left – no shade . So I tried to reach the stretches like the one on the right where trees gave a little bit of shade.
Coming back home all hot and not bothered but sweaty I once more looked in my archive and with the right additional tags I found some shade seekers in France

and one of my first minikin attempts (I should have used a lamp):

Mind you, it was hot AND DRY on Friday, but when I went out yesterday in the evening it had turned to hotter and humid. Ugh!

Hahaha, love the Minikin and you certainly went above and beyond the call of duty in your search for shade, I salute you, extra points!
I was lucky my route to and from the pub was so shady, the garden was scorching, as was the beach I took a walk on yesterday, no shade at all.
