A quick snap ended being the last on my camera SD card. A sparrow on a mossy roof. It looked better in profile but it turned its head.
The yellow car in the second row is of course, a Citroën 2CV – in German lovingly nickname “Ente”, aka “duck”. It’s my last photo on the phone for May.

A bird that didn’t do the right thing, how unusual 😂 Did you buy a Citroën 2CV?
Thanks for joining in Last on the Card Elke 😀

No, no duck for us. My husband deems the trunk not large enough. But 2CVs hold a special place in the heart of many Germans of my generation.

My husband just told me that they will bring back a new edition.

I wonder if it will be electric or a hybrid?

Neither, I guess. Mainly because we’re looking for older models. But also I distrust the “ecological” argument for electric cars. They are fine and dandy concerning emissions but the batteries is still not solved satisfactorily (dumping the old batteries in Africa is NOT a solution).

Until they can solve the range issue and charging, no way I would contemplate one.

I think that’s easier solved in Germany (more people closer together than Australia). It is getting better and charging is getting faster (i.e. stops on longer drives are getting shorter). We don’t really travel such long distances anymore but I can see that it bother people who do.

That is the case of the tyranny of distance that we face plus the infrastructure for charging stations at regular intervals
