Catching the attention

After looking at Tina’s wonderful informative post I went through my archive and found a few examples for focussing a photo. She said to pick only two or so methods but I found that most of my photos would qualify for more than one principle.

A simplified background, at the same time it’s an example for a shallow field of focus (which was responsible for the unform light brown background).

Same here the middle daisy is in focus, the back ones and the little bit of the front one are not and the background is a simple grey.

But my mouse family is simply shallow depth of field, although one could argue for leading lines.

All lines lead towards the bee. And the soft focus comes as an added bonus.

Lines and more lines.

Talking about leading lines – a vanishing point can never go wrong. Side lines and even a middle line so the viewer won’t get lost.

And just for the sheer glory of the colour – and a bit of shallow focus, and the placement of the star daffodil at the bottom of the picture.
