I don’t understand the Belgian penchant for seving chips with mayonnaise. That’s just … odd.

In Germany, even at MacD. you’re asked everytime “mayo” or “ketchup”. And of course, they invented “Pommes Schranke” = Fries level crossing, aka red & white. They even have red/white straight out of a tube, similar to toothpaste with stripes.
