No, our town or rather the whole of the Kurpfalz was part of the Bavarian kingdom/dukedom whatever it was at the time. Hence the colours of our flag are white-blue and we have the white and blue diamonds in our (and many other town’s) crest. Bavaria, or rather Frankonia, is not so far away from here. A bit more an hour’s drive true east and there it is.
Technically, the head of the Kurpfalz became head of Bavaria (because of the lineage, or rather the right people dying). So technically, we didn’t become Bavarian but the Bavaria became Palatinate.
By “we belonged to” you mean you lived in Bavaria?

Ok..I thought that you might have meant that but then I argued in my head that it is Baden-Wurrtemberg, not Bavaria 😁..
