Officially a boat, it’s still ship-shape, isn’t it? In any case, the crew was totally ship-shape: the strokers, the caller, and the steersperson, all ship-shape.
Never mind the sound: you should have seen some of the drummers: Viking women in tanga string bikinis and hair in braids (I know the dragon boats are originally Chinese – but then, the steerspersons were all wearing kilts).
How long was your distance? I think this particular event it was less than a kilometer, going with the flow of the river. Over in a less than a minute, I guess.
It was a short distance, not even 500metres as all the teams were first timers doing it for fun. Had about three races during the day as we made the final.
We have dragon boat races downtown! I love watching them. That drum sound…!

Have done Dragon Boat racing. It’s so much fun but hard work. The boat just goes so fast when everyone is in perfect sync

That sounds pretty similar to what I saw last Sunday.
