on 12 August we had an almost total eclipse of the sun in Germany (89% where we live). We went up a mountain hill and had a unique experience (the next exclipse around here that comes close is outside my life expectancy). The photos in colour (with an appropriate filter, obviously) were wonderful in their vibrancy but here are some shots in monochrome.
And so it began.
This is towards the end.
I tried to get crescent shaped shadows but could only find crusty tree bark.
The light was stunning.
Even Mouse appreciated the spectacle.
