I am quite familiar with the hadeda – the ibis living in sub-Saharan Africa. And then I saw the Scarlet Ibis in the zoo and it looks like a hadeda who has dropped in a pot of bright red paint. Stunning!
The Windows of My School
These are the windows of the classroom in which I teach. It’s actually quite a big room, the window side is at least 6 metres but because of the foreshortening in the picture it looks cramped. Outside the window it is green, a slope of grass, but not as green as at the other side of the building.

Country House and City House Next to Each Other
We live in a house that was built less than 10 years ago. A new house then – our neighbour’s house – not so much. It was a farm house but by the time we moved in it wasn’t active anymore. This is the view from the street, our seven apartment house in front on the left, the old house at the back to the right.

That’s the view from the kitchen window. It’s actually not a new photo as there are now bushes that have grown between the two properties. But the house still looks more or less the same when you peep through the leaves.

The faces of the Mannheim Palace
Aino’s colour suggestions this week were these:
and I immediately thought of the photos I had taken at the Mannheim Palace.
