The tv tower in Mannheim casts its long shadow over the two arms of the river Neckar. I’ve been where the shadow crosses the Neckar island on a bike tour with my sister.

Legal Architecture
That the Amtsgericht in Weinheim, the lowest kind of court there is in Germany. It looks idyllic but cases with possible sentences of up to four years are tried here.
Surprise in the Yard
The building looks like an old school building or some such but now it is a gallery. In the yard is this square (!) column with a die made up of rusty ravel on top.

It’s too Far, We Went Local
The grandkids were in town and the Gruffalo exhibit was in the town’s museum. So we went to look at the mouse and the Gruffalo and also the pre-historic mammoth skull that was dug up 50 years ago.
Expectations
A quick walk up the street only to find out that the Christmas decorations have appeared.

Trois Trios
I found three trios on a recent short trip to the border between France and German. Three flags in front of the tourist information in Kehl. On the other side of the border in Strasbourg there are many old houses with triple dormers. And the three French slogans – liberté, égalité, fraternité . on the townhall as well as the flags of Ukraine, France and Europe on the balcony.
