Cosmic Photo Challenge: As the Sun Goes Down
Monday Window
A cul de sac ending on a vineyard. And two benches. And don’t forget the table in between. What’s missing?

Look at the sign on the bench. It reads: Little neighborhood bench.

Now imagine neighbours sitting down, at the end of the day, with a bottle of wine and a few glasses between them, having a chinwag while the sun is setting behind them. Wouldn’t you love to join them?
The orb with cross, the globus cruciger, symbolised Christ’s domination over the world in the hand of a worthy ruler during the Middle Ages. I have no idea whether this particular ruler, a figure in a facade of the Heidelberg Castle that is not completely in ruins, was a particular worthy ruler. In fact I tried to find out who he was because I liked the kitty at his feet but I gave up because there are so many of these figures.
Since I couldn’t match Debbie’s Six Word Saturday I think I’m permitted to break the rule and add a few more words.
I’m reverting to a series I had a few years back, i.e. using book titles as my heading and finding appropriate photos to go go with them. Today’s novel is Das Brot der frühen Jahre, a novel by the German Nobel prize winner Heinrich Böll. The photo shows the bakery (now long gone) where we bought our bread when I was little.
