
















This tower was one of four of our town’s fortification (three are still remaining). He was named after his dark blue slate covered roof. The roof has been neither slate nor blue for quite a few centuries but the name remains.

In this case the town is called Ladenburg, a mere 2000 year old town, founded by the Romans, and although now it is rather small with just over 11,000 inhabitants at one stage it used to be the main centre of Roman life right of the Rhine.
