until the last flicker. That’s why a dedicated firefighter keeps his eye on a flame as long as it is still flickering.

These pictures are from a few years back.
Needless to say that when I stepped out of the house that day I was sure that I wouldn’t go to work that day, I didn’t want to go to work that day.
But the neighbours were out and starting to clear the snow. And I had help.
Within less than an hour, most of us had freed their cars and were on their way. I was off to work, albeit a bit late. As debilitating the snow was, it didn’t disable us completely.

The heron is not flying into a storm but into uncertainty. Will there be sunshine? Will there be clouds? Or a storm, after all?
The Ragtag Daily Prompt: Freedom
and harking back to an rdp last July: Free

Wikipedia knows that “A skookum is a variety of mountain giant or monster similar to the Sasquatch or Bigfoot.” Mhm… I am wondering. Would the Gruffalo qualify as a skookum if he was seen wandering around in the Northwestern United States? He certainly is fierce, strong, and powerful, and has terrible tusks and terrible claws, terrible teeth and terrible jaws!
When I read the rdp for today, I saw what I always see in my mind’s eye when I hear the word: the cameo performance by Robin Williams and Billy Crystal in “Friends“: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwMlgKUQaQ4 – at around 1:15. I will never ever read or hear the word “oozing” without hearing it in Robin Williams’ voice. “Maybe it’s my wound, it’s still oooooozing.”

However, oozing wounds do not a pretty picture make. So I’ve opted for showing off Johnny , the neighbour’s cat, instead. He is oozing with confidence!
