It all depends on the context. If the figure’s there as a ‘golliwog’ all red lips, charm and frizzy hair, definitely not!

We don’t have gollywogs as such in Germany but this figure (or something close to it) was used as the logo of a chocolate company. They’ve changed it during the last years, keeping the costume but giving the figure a golden skin.

You bring up a good point Elkie. First of all, the mannequin is adorable, probably the most of the three. But with racial tensions at an all-time high, it’s probably not a good idea to advertise products that are brown in color with a brown-skinned mannequin. Some women might be sensitive about the female mannequin as well. Both are stereotypical, but very cute.
