My favourite book by Heinlein is “The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress”. “Time Enough for Love” is from the same period and has now been added to my to-be-read pile.

Love the picture, Elke. Sounds like a good book. I checked it out on Amazon, but it’s old enough it should be at the library. Checking there next.

A library should definitely have it. It’s a classic science fiction novel, often quoted and referenced in scifi literature. Heinlein was in his way a visionary but could be longwinded. His depiction of women would also not fly today. I’ve read The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (genius title!) when I was very young, in my teens. I read it in a German translation then. Since I listen more than I read these days I looked for an audio version. The one available sounds awful! Heinlein devoleped a kind of slang for Luna (a penal colony in the future) which one gets used to reading after a few pages. But listening to it is torture. I also don’t like the voice of the reader.
