It really isn’t. But then you read the inscription at its enclosure: “Hello, 🖤 maybe you are wondering about our looks. We want to explain! Before we came to this reptile zoo our owner kept us in a terrarium without lights. Hence our bones have become very soft and we suffer from rickets, which is not curable even if enough light and loving care. We hope you don’t worry too much and enjoy your time here! 🙂 the Bumpy Geckos.” and you go: “Oooh! The poor dear!” and the gecko is suddenly endearing. His story, though, is appalling.

BTW: The bumpy geckos or knob-headed geckos are also called gargoyle geckos. Now that’s endearing!
