I wonder if the pigeon has seen another pigeon getting grabbed by a creature in the water. They are nervous birds at the best of times

I’ve checked a bit because I never heard that. Turns out the European eel is endangered, its numbers have gone back 98% in the last 50 years. So if they do catch the odd pigeon – I won’t begrudge them that.
