Brian, that’s the very best thing about them. Its scent is heady, potent, voluptuous. But the flowers quickly die, and after that the (rather unexciting) tree looks messy for weeks.
I trimmed the lilac bushes in my front yard over the winter. They did not bloom this year. Hopefully next year. I miss the smell! The one is right outside my front door and the scent wafts in through the screen. it is lovely. Good pic, btw. I love see the delicate flowers.
