I’m cheating a bit this month. Because I was away for the weekend I felt like the last photo on Saturday (31 May) did not really feel like a last photo. So I have a last photo on Saturday but also a last photo on Sunday (1 June) at the end of our short breakaway in Bavaria.

In case of the photos on the mobilphone SD card it made little difference. On both days I took the last pic when we returned to the Youth Hostel (don’t snigger, in Germany youth hostels have branched out and are now allowing grannies in their rooms).

The last pic on Saturday was a selfie in the window. After a 12km hike in hot weather with hardly a shade in sight (which is why I was alone – the others were already back by the time I passed this house). The smartphone pic was taken a few minutes later – my camera battery had given up and I hadn’t packed a spare one. The Sunday pic was a similar situation, the battery packed up just after that (I actually think it’s getting old). We were in the middle of the “hangover trail” which went up and up and up. The rest of the trail was captured with the phone.
