I wrote last week that Bavarian window seem to be all about shutters but that seems not to hold true for downtown Bad Tölz. I saw a lot of painted window frames. The blueish grey house has the inscription Bader, i.e. barber-surgeon; the cream coloured house is a shop where they sell various liquids on tap – wine, vinegar, oil, liqueur, spirits. The liquid that’s normally associated with “from the vat” (i.e. beer) is not sold.

Oh now I know what Bader means. Have come across the “zum Bader” but never looked up what it meant. I like that little ornamentation. Just thought it has something to do with the Baths 😀. “Vom Fass” – that’s also a new phrase I learnt. Thanks for sharing with Monday Window, Elke!
