The Facilities at the Biggest Wine Festival in the World

More than 600,000 visitors need to be catered for. What caught my eye was that the use of the toilets is 70 cents each time – but it’s possibly to book a flatrate, 5 Euro per day. By my calcutation this means you have to go the loo more than 7 times to break even.

    1. Yeah, but they are CLEAN (not the yucky ones on lay byes, they are free). And you get all of it back as a voucher which you can use to buy another drink so that you can use the next restroom 100km down the line.

      1. Actually, we did use a couple of free ones, and were thoroughly impressed with their cleanliness. We were a bit surprised to have to pay. Not come across that in any other country. Ah well ….

      2. I really don’t mind. I’ve been to awful loos in Germany and elsewhere. I don’t mind “spending a penny” even if it is a Euro these days. If they ever get around to making the motorways in Germany toll roads I reconsider but for the moment I rather have a company caring for the facilities.
