“multimedia” meant: a phone (landline), tv and later vhs, a radio, a tape recorder, cinema, a camera, …

Just yesterday my husband was telling our grandson about the computers he worked with when he first installed and repaired CT scanners in hospitals. They took up a whole room (needed very good air conditioning to keep the room cool enough) and were less capable than even a cheap modern day cellphone.
