It’s not the worst idea to examine the bottle your are going to drink from. The friend in question (the one on the left in the picture) keeps bringing beer to our meets that “he found at the back of his fridge”. They are usually beyond the “sell-by-date” or “best-before-date”. Last Sunday he brought beers from 2019 (!).

……………………………………….

That’s nothing. Until recently we had a jar of Marmite to be used by 2003. It was absolutely fine.

I have fruit cake glaze my mother sent me to South Africa, that must have been early 90s. I keep it to be reminded of her, everytime I open the tin with the baking ingredients I think of her. but NB: The beer tasted really weird.

Yes, I wouldn’t expect beer to last well. But truly, the Marmite was fine. Don’t eat the glaze!😉

I won’t but I’m pretty sure it would still work (it is in powdered form).

I do a “regular” pantry and fridge clean out but still find old out of date things some time later. The beer would be a bit suss I reckon
