When I take photos on my phone (incidentally, this one is called Gladys) I need to attach it with a cable to the pc to store it without loss of quality. I store all my photos on the computer and I edit only on the computer. But occasionally I’m in a hurry then I send a photo to myself in a messenger programme which I can access by phone and by computer, and then I upload it and store it. It’s cumbersome and a pain but for me it works. This particular photo is of a piece of art standing in a hospital lobby which I took this morning.
And just btw there is a German word for “to upload” but nobody uses it. We just use the English term, however we use a weird German grammar construction (it sounds awful): Ich uploade das mal schnell. Du musst das uploaden. Sie hat das geuploadet.

……………………………………….

My husband – the ex-German teacher – was both diverted and horrified by ‘geuploadet’ etc!

😁 We also have “gedownloadet” (obviously), “gesaved” (funny enough with a D at the end), “updaten”, “chatten”, “sharen” etc. My personal bane is “Ich habe das geliked”.

I do mine the same as you which is why I rarely use the camera on my phone. Too darn much trouble!
Is Gladys the name of your phone or this sculpture? 🤔

My phone. The two before were called “Dorfl” and “Anghammarad”. Readers of discworld novels by Terry Pratchett will recognise them as golem names (golems are mechanical entities typically powered by holy words in their heads. They used to be considered non-lifeforms, but lately, quite a few individual golems have begun to demonstrate personality.)
