
I put the original through lunapic.com’s feature of merging a photo with the picture of an artist. I don’t know if they have a new function or if I overlooked it until now but I compared a complete merge with a “keeping your own colours” versions. I don’t always understand how and why but here are the results.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t find these look anything like the original painter would have done, do you? Not your fault! It’s the ‘system’!

No, I agree. However, I like the effects. So even if it isn’t an almost original Gauguin it is a nice version of my photo.

Interesting study. I notice that in a lot of the “keep the original color ones the shadow on the cheeks is really exagerated. I think I like the Gaugin without the original colors for a variation. But is looks pretty different from the original, which is a sweet photo.

Thanks for your comments. It is a nice plaything but I usually go for the original, maybe slightly enhanced.
