I somehow don’t believe that art can be only for art’s sake. If it claims to be that it actually says something about ignoring life. And however much art tries not to be about something else it will always be about something in the recipients (listener, onlooker, reader) mind.
Having said that I came about this abstract sculpture in the corridors of a hospital last week.
However, the location adds to the art as does the man with the walker in the back. There is no escape art is always about more than itself.
Anyway I tried to limit (or at least soften) the surroundings in various ways concentrating only on this shape which is in it’s smoothness and slight twist quite pleasing.

I like your take on art and I really like that sculpture and the way it’s positioned so it can be viewed in the round, someone thought about that, which makes a nice change.
