I’ve been to my share of German heritage picnics and gatherings, but they can’t hold a candle to a true Bavarian celebration… no beer here in city parks, sadly. >grin< At least we make up for it with ice hockey and curling.

You should go to a winefest in the Palatinate. Without the touristy dress up doodle do from Bavarians, 😁 Or carnival in Köln or Mainz. As you can see, I’m not a particular fan of Bavarians or rather Bavarian culture. Even Frankonia can do it better (officially a part of Bavaria but a culture of its own, more beer breweries, more beer varieties, better beer),
