The items on the kids’ menu are:

  • I don’t know
  • It’s all the same to me
  • Something or other
  • I’m not hungry

Here is the translation:

  • small schnitzel with either chips or spätzle
  • six chicken nuggets with chips and ketchup
  • spätzle with sauce
  • empty plate with cutlery to use as drumsticks (that one is free of charge)

  2. What is it with kids menus that, world-wide, chicken nuggets is king. Why can’t they just have small adult portions, like at home? But well done for humour, that restaurateur!

    1. We were just in Greece and one lunchtime I observed a family at the next table. They had ordered chicken kebabs and the small children didn’t want to even try. Until the very helpful waiter suggested that they are Greek chicken nuggets. And yes, the children tried and liked. [sigh]

    2. One theory is that it’s easy to eat. Nobody will mind fingers, no adult has to cut the meat, nobody has to fight with spaghetti or macaroni with sauce landing on your shirt and behind your ears, etc.
