In Bad Tölz is a house, called “House of Advocates”. In German, an Advokat is a synonym for lawyer or barrister, one who pleads the cause of another. I couldn’t confirm where the name comes from and if it originally had anything to do with lawyers.
Today it is split into an event venue and living apartments. But the various landlords of the house have been advocating performance arts of various kinds since the 1930s.

advocatus originally meant a pleader or legal assistant called to support a person in a dispute. advocate comes from the Latin root advocare, meaning “to call to aid” or “to summon”. It combines ad- (“to”) and vocare (“to call,” related to vox, meaning “voice”). Historically, it referred to someone called into a Roman court to help or plead for another. – (Google)
