They have the monopoly on Guinness because of the different way of drawing it from the barrels. Also, they kind of cornered the market of sports’ bars. We used to go before they started showing rugby on German tv.
I love it. And once I tried “poor man’s black velvet” as a dare (Guinness + cider? what on earth were they thinking?!) and I’ve been hooked ever since! 😋
😄 More for me! (Now I really want one, I think the last black velvet I had was almost a year ago, for that matter my last beer was in Greece, aka more than a month ago.)
That’s just … odd.

Guinness hands out these hats in major cities in Germany on St Patrick’s Day as promotional objects.

I think the Irish pubs in Germany are all sort of similar to franchisees to Guinness brewery.

Irish pubs seem to be a ‘thing’ all over continental Europe.

I loathe Guiness, so how they draw it up is of little consequence to me!

Even if they are promotional, there’s no need to wear it, ask any leprechaun

No, but they give you free or cheaper guinness if you wear them when you come to an Irish pub on the day 😄
