Read this with an English mind: “Sooo gross, sooo grandiose, sooo Gauloises!”
Of course, it was meant for German eyes (and ears): “Sooo grand, so grandiose, sooo Gauloise!” But I like the description “gross” in connection with smoking and cigarettes. Remind me to tell my sons (again).
